So how many cats can you fit inside one terabyte hard disk? We got one — Lemon the cat, was so eager to explore a new byte-size home. This is a 1 TB external HDD with USD2.0 connectivity from Western Digital, purchased over the weekend in KL.
Hmm.. if you are an mp3 collector, typically a decent size mp3 will be at about 3000 kilobytes or about 3,000,000 bytes per song (1 kb = 1024 bytes). So that means in 1 TB, you can fit at least 333,333 mp3 songs!! If you want proof, just divide 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (approx 1 TB) with 3,000,000 bytes per song. So, that is a huge collection of songs. Again, if one song is about 4 minutes; you can then listen all of them for at least 2.5 years continuously! Yeah.. Malaysia BOLEH!
So how many cats can fit in? One character is 1 byte, so CATS has 4 characters, or 4 bytes. So there will be 250, 000,000,000 cats can fit in inside 1 TB :-)
Western Digital says: This 1 TB can hold:
| Up to 285,000 digital photos | |
| Up to 250,000 songs (MP3) | |
| Up to 25,000 songs (uncompressed CD quality) | |
| Up to 76 hours of Digital Video (DV) | |
| Up to 440 hours of DVD quality video | |
| Up to 120 hours of HD video |
One gigabyte (GB) = one billion bytes. One terabyte (TB) = one trillion bytes. Total accessible capacity varies depending on operating environment.
Sarah just got her iPhone over the weekend.

Dim sum!
Well, it’s not really a breakfast but a late breakfast cum lunch at 1pm.
After picking up Sarah’s CRV from Honda Service Station (she finally got the scratched on the fender repainted), we went to Yuen Garden Dim Sum House, at Bandar Puchong Jaya.

Aug 1- 3rd 2008: PC Fair 2008 in Kuala Lumpur; at KL Convention Centre. We went there on the 3rd at abt 3pm; and it was still crowded as expected. In fact, there were so many people, at one time I felt the air was running out (yes, serious as a heart attack!). And since the was so little room to move around — we quickly concluded that prices were just slightly cheaper than those listed at LYP on normal days.. and that we would just need to find the “designated exit” (the organizer has decided, yet again, to have limited designated exits, so that visitors would have to walk and go through all the halls before one could go out).
well.. that was the original idea.
By 8pm, we summed up the damages to be:
Big complaint: get rid of the walk-flow system where you have to go through Hall 1 until Hall 5 to exit from that place. With all those stuffs; we could hardly walk in-gadget styles without stomping, stumbling, kicking and cursing.
Additional damages due to PC Fair 2008 fever:

We have just added this to our travel calendar .. well, at least a plan to do so. The good thing is that this time, it will not involve flying. In fact, we will be on land all the time.
Yes — this is a travel plan to be on board of the The Eastern & Oriental Express that carries passengers in luxury between Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
We plan to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok through the dense rainforests and towering mountains past golden temples, rubber plantations and remote towns and villages.
The Eastern & Oriental Express travel the whole length from Singapore trhough KL and Butterworth to Bangkok in a distance of about 2000 km. The train was built in Japan in 1972 and was first used as the Silver Star train in New Zealand. We were told that on board the Eastern & Oriental Express, the atmosphere harks back to a ‘Colonial’ age of rattan chairs on the verandah, linen suits and tea dances; and the journey also offers the highest quality of foods (and beauty spas, too)!
Of course, with at least USD2000 per person for this Kuala Lumpur – Bangkok journey: this will probably be just a plan, until we have that amount to spare; or until someone is kind enough to sponsor our travel on this luxurious train. Aim to do this in 2010? Possibly…
July 1st 2008. Yes, it has been 2 years already since our wedding vows — time really flies when you are having fun.
Got some flowers and we stayed at home, just the two of us. All things are continuing to be absolutely great.
We managed to take some photos of our 2nd anniversary flowers: HERE

We never thought that we would be very sad about losing a cat forever.
Muffin came to us in October 2007 from Ampang SPCA: as a birthday gift for sarah from jo, odok & moneng. Muffin was then a young feline, quite frailed and was abandoned. She was timid and very quiet in the first few weeks… and she grew so fast, becoming a fantastic cat and a part of the house member.
Some people may say that a cat is just a pet — but Muffin was a part of our lives. We really never thought that we would be so sad when losing her. We gave her care and lots of food; and she quickly became the master of the house. She was once lost for one month and we managed to find her in time for xmas. She never got lost again, until this morning.
Just before lunch, Muffin was outside among the plants when she was attacked by three stray dogs: we were too late to come to her rescue, and she died on the way to the vet in our car.
We would like to think that Muffin has had a colorful life, and unfortunately — she is now gone and we lost her forever.
For a brief moment, Muffin was in our lives, we loved her and she has now moved on.
Rest in peace muffin.
