Nothing much to say -- this has to be one of the dumbest movies we've seen this year. It's supposed to be funny with Randy Daytona, a ping pong loser being recruited by FBI to use pingpong to nab this super mafia Feng guy (which they did, in the end - of course). Ping pong as a weapon? Not a typical fist of fury, but certainly furry balls. Not a great movie, but not a loser because the simple approach of using sports as weapon, did make this move idiotly funny. We have to admit that we did enjoy watching this and in fact, the movie made us laugh! Probably the hero can be better, the acting was so-so: should have been Jack Black! Overall, funny and dumb movie but still made us decently happy. A high 4.

Santa Clause has to save both xmas from being ruined and turned North Pole into a resort by Jack Frost; while at the same time, try to be a good father to the pregnant wife. We watched this for the spirit of Christmas and we can equate this movie to a very light entertainment on festive seasons. This would be a good movie to warm the home, to watch with kids and the family during Christmas, for a few laughs.

Carter's got dumped by his famous gf and his world become chaotic, he sought peace in the serene town in Michigan. That's it -- and nothing really happened. Overall, a flat story with no defined characters; but the way they speak and the words are nice so the movie was not that bad... We watched this from 11:30pm Dec 31st 2007 and sailed through the midnight and new year 2008. If you have time to spare, try find other movies to watch. ps: we loved that grandma -- she gave the finger!

We watched this just after dinner tonight -- a very sentimental movie that has grouped talented actresses and actors, of course including meryl streep and glenn close. The cinematography is great btw. This is a slow movie and you have to listen to what it tried to portray life and not just the characters or scripts alone -- sounds boring? We wont blame you but overall, there is a good takeaway from the movie: that we should celebrate life as it is and cherish love. story: 8, cinematography: 7.5, casting: 7 :-)

An American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung-fu classics makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself traveling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors, including a drunken warrior Yu Lan (Jackie Chan) from martial arts lore on a dangerous quest to free the imprisoned Monkey King (Jet Li).

This is a kung-fu film with a healthy sense of humor, an epic story and amazing visual imagery. Go see it!

Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg -- yes, our fav too..), one of the world's great marksmen and the son of a Congressional Medal of Honoree, is a loner living in the Rockies. He's left the military, having been hung out to dry in a secret Ethiopian mission a few years before, when he's recruited by a lisping colonel to help find a way that the President of the US might be assassinated in one of three cities in the next two weeks. He does his work, but the shot is fired notwithstanding and Bob Lee is quickly the fall guy: wounded and hunted by thousands, he goes to ground and, aided by two unlikely allies, searches for the truth and for those who double-crossed him. All roads lead back to Ethiopia.

Great stunts, and in fact, this movie is a very good one, well technically -- but I believe Mark Walhberg can do more if given more (like more scripts; rather than just mumbles). The storyline is just ok.

This is the story of Beatrix Potter, the author of many classic illustrated children's stories such as "Peter Rabbit." She was raised in the latter part of the 19th Century in an upper middle class, stuffy family. And worked in the early part of the 20th Century.

It is a story of rebellion, and one woman's liberation from knowing one's place, settling on an arranged marriage, and quietly raising a family in the shadow of a man. Beatrix (Renee Zellweger) would have none of that. She had a dreamy artist's imagination and talent and temperament from an early age and simply rebelled and lived in her own created world. When the world recognized her talent, she slowly became a part of the commercial world via the book publishing industry and a mentor/love interest (Ewan McGregor) and the mentor's sister (Emily Watson).

The cast is brilliant. You go back in time with them a 100 years and live with and understand their stilted social mores. The art direction and cinematography are stunning and are worthy of Academy Award nominations.
There is one neat trick of animation that appears throughout this film. The drawn animal characters occasionally become animated, but only to Beatrix. It sounds hokey, but it is a clever way to demonstrate how real these characters were to their author. And, it's why they have rung true to children and to adults for many generations.

Beatrix is a model for determination and pluck and steadfastness. This is a beautiful story beautifully told, with very high quality.

This movie will truly move you as it did to us.

Some great quotes from the movies:
Millie Warne:I must warn you, Miss Potter, I am more than prepared to like you!
Beatrix Potter:Stories don't always end where their authors intended. But there is joy in following them, wherever they take us.
Rupert Potter:Our daughter is famous, Helen. You're the only person who doesn't know it.

Holly Kennedy is beautiful, smart and married to the love of her life - a passionate, funny, and impetuous Irishman named Gerry. So when Gerry's life is taken by an illness, it takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her is the person who is no longer there. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry. So it's a good thing he planned ahead.

Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that will guide her, not only through her grief, but in rediscovering herself.

The first message arrives on Holly's 30th birthday in the form of a cake, and to her utter shock, a tape recording from Gerry, who proceeds to tell her to get out and "celebrate herself". In the weeks and months that follow, more letters from Gerry are delivered in surprising ways, each sending her on a new adventure and each signing off in the same way; P.S. I Love You. Holly's mother and best friends begin to worry that Gerry's letters are keeping Holly tied to the past, but in fact, each letter is pushing her further into a new future.

With Gerry's words as her guide, Holly embarks on a journey of rediscovery in a story about marriage, friendship and how a love so strong can turn the finality of death into a new beginning for life.

You'll not regret watching this movie. It has the right mix of comedy, romance and emotional drama.

The script is beautiful and after watching this, you will want to go back and hug your wife or your husband and be happy with them as much as possible.
