One exercise that can be used to discover the purpose in life (even if you dont think there is one; or even if you think this exercise is silly -- do it anyway, be silly for 30-40 minutes) is:

a) List down what you think is your purpose in life
b) Keep writing down until you stumble upon one that makes you so filled with emotion that makes you cry.
c) That is your purpose in life.

Try it. It sounds silly but just try it alone, and dont quit.
