This is Chilli padi — after 9 months (seeds from Sabah which we planted in a flower pot at home in Cyberjaya).
Chilli padi (Malay: cili padi) are tiny little fiery chillis normally in red or green color, also known as bird’s eye chilli in English.
This type of chilli can be found in Malaysia and Indonesia but most commonly in Thailand, where they are known as phrik khii nuu (?????????), which translates literally as “mouse shit chiili”.
Although small in size compared to other types of chilli, the chilli padi is relatively strong at 50,000 to 100,000 Scoville (we did not know that!!)
