This is the how my back looks like 3 hrs after the cupping at Puchong Reflex. Centre. Cupping is a method of treatment in which a jar is attached to the skin surface to cause local congestion through the negative pressure created by introducting heat in the form of an ignited material. I was told that this type of treatment has been practised by the chinese and the Arabs for thousand of years. In Malay this practice is known as ‘BEKAM’ and in Arabic the called ‘AL-HIJAMAH’ while in China ‘gua-sha’.

The cupping method has the function of awrming and promoting the flow of energy in the blood thus dispelling cold dampness, toxic and winds. It is also diminishing swellings and pains.

This wasnt planned until the therapist suggested that I should do cupping as my lower back has a lot of “winds” — and my back does feel loose now.
