This is a picture taken from Tonle Sap, the largest lake in South East Asia, filled with water from Mekong every year. This lake and its surrounding seemed like the poorest and most desperate part of Cambodia that we had seen
The kids rows on waterpails begging for money — they have intense eye, with no smile and staring at us with that outstretched hand.
The desire to take a picture of one of the kids came out instantly.
Then it hit us — we just did not know how to respond to the feeling; just the feeling of guilty and completely unsure as we seemed to be so powerless in the midst of this poverty.
